About the Foundation
Kenosha Public Library Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt, private, nonprofit 501c(3) corporation, which exists to support the mission of the Kenosha Public Library. That mission is "to provide the highest quality library resources for information, recreation, and lifelong learning for residents of all ages in the City and County of Kenosha."
It is the Foundation's goal to enrich, not replace, traditional tax-based support for the Library through gifts from individuals and organizations. Your contribution to the Kenosha Public Library Foundation will help perpetuate the highest quality library resources for information, recreation, and lifelong learning for residents of all ages in the city and county of Kenosha.
You may make a major contribution to the Foundation for a specified project at the Library. The Foundation Board will maintain and safeguard your contribution and use it for the project you have specified at the appropriate time. Recognition for the contribution will be provided according to your wishes and the policies of the Foundation Board.
Endowing a Memorial Fund
A memorial fund is a lasting tribute intended to support specified Library activities for years to come. The Foundation Board will invest your substantial donation and disburse the revenue for the purpose you direct at the inception of the endowment. Recognition will be provided according to your wishes and the policies of the Foundation Board.
Gifts to the Kenosha Public Library Foundation, Inc. are tax-deductible. You may be able to give appreciated stocks, bonds, or real estate to the Foundation, avoid paying tax on the appreciation of the asset, and still receive a tax deduction for the full value of the asset. Through the use of charitable remainder trusts and other deferred giving options, you may also be able to enjoy income from the property during your lifetime while reducing income and estate taxes.
Gifts Enrich The Community
Through your gift to the Kenosha Public Library Foundation, you may honor a family member or friend by endowment of a major Library project or support of the many on-going projects of the Kenosha Public Library. Your contribution will be tailored to match your intentions with the community's library needs.
The Foundation offers you an excellent opportunity to help the community, while giving you the satisfaction of supporting a worthwhile and well-respected institution.
As an independent, non-profit corporation, the Foundation can assure you that your wishes will receive the greatest respect and that your donation will be managed in the most fiscally responsible manner.
