In 1902, a unique and exultant voice emerged from the unlikely breeding place of Butte, Montana—and in the unlikely form of a girl of nineteen. In her autobiographical and self-revelatory Story of Mary MacLane, the titular heroine proclaimed, “I have attained an egotism that is rare indeed.” Come hear how this self-proclaimed genius took the literary world by storm and became the inspiration for thousands of young women to convert to “Mary MacLaneism.” Special thanks to Cathy’s KPL cohort Emily Kastelic for introducing her to this most uncommon individual!
