Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese artist who is sometimes called "the princess of polka dots." Although she makes lots of different types of art – paintings, sculptures, performances and installations – they all have one thing in common: DOTS! In this box we will be making 3D flowers, pumpkins, and other things covered with dots. This style of art is called “pop art surrealism.”
Materials included: 1" paper strips, brads, black bumpy chenille stem, 6" paper plates, eye stickers, green pipe cleaners, dot stickers, pom pom, q-tip, paint, foam shape stickers, cup.
Materials not included: Black marker or crayon, pencil with an eraser, scissors, variety of objects you can use to draw circles.
To Go Boxes no longer require registration! Instead, a limited quantity of boxes will be made available at each library branch as of opening time on Saturdays. Boxes will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
This box is designed for a family of four. We respectfully request that each box be limited to 2 per household.
