Take a walk in one of our beautiful local parks and engage with nature while joining in a community-driven documentation of the plants and animals in Kenosha! For this Bio Blitz, we will be using the iNaturalist app.
A Bio Blitz is an event that has participants take photos of as many species of plants and animals as possible within a designated area and time. It is a way for us to connect with nature while contributing to science.
To join the Bio Blitz, follow the steps below
- Head to the iNaturalist site
- Download the iNaturalist app to a smartphone or tablet from the Apple App Store or Google Play
- Login with your acount
- Search for “NEA Big Read Bio Blitz.” There will be one for Kenosha County
- Take a walk and shoot pictures of the plants and animals around you! Watch the video guides from iNaturalist to learn how to take quality photos for observations.
