Scary Story Contest 2021: Monsters!

It's that time of the year again! Sharpen your pencils because the KPL Scary Story Contest is back and better than ever.

3rd-12th graders, here's your chance to write an original story that incorporates this year's theme: Monsters! 

What are the rules?

Your short story should be about 500 words long and typed, if possible. Your story MUST be your own, original work, and it MUST incorporate the theme. Stories that do not follow the theme will be disqualified. Language must be library appropriate.

Entries can be returned to any KPL location (including the Bookmobile) OR this year they can also be submitted digitally. Your entry MUST be received by 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 31st. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, quality of writing, adherence to contest rules, and scariness. 

What can I win? 

Aside from bragging rights, contest winners will receive gift cards in various denominations. Pick up an entry form at any library location or submit your entry digitally via this google form
