Scams in the Age of Covid-19

Scammers are taking advantage of fears surrounding the coronavirus. Below are some tips recommended by the Federal Trade Commission to protect yourself and help keep scammers at bay!

Don’t Respond to text, emails or calls about checks from the government
Most people will not need to do anything to receive Economic Impact Payments related to Covid-19. Only use irs.gov/coronavirus to submit information to the IRS.

Ignore Online offers for vaccinations
As of this blog writing, there are no products proven to treat or prevent Covid-19.

Hang-up on Robo-Calls
These may be pitching coronavirus treatments, low priced health insurance and more.
