The Business Development Division utilizes a combination of technical and financial assistance programs that have been designed to assist businesses at all points of the continuum including: business planning, site selection, initial capitalization, permitting, employee training, research and development, and business expansion.
Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The SBDC is a management assistance delivery program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Some of the key roles of SBDC include coaching and guidance to businesses, financial lending assistance, business/marketing/strategic plan development, business startup plans, market analysis for businesses, financial analysis, and minority business issues.
The SBDC also offers workshops and business writing series to help understand the clear picture of what it takes to run a successful business.
Kenosha Area Business Alliance (KABA)
KABA is Kenosha County’s economic development organization and employers association.
KABA provides a range of economic development and business services to its nearly 400 member investors and to prospective members as well. KABA manages a portfolio of economic development revolving loan funds that are used to provide low-interest loans to new and expanding businesses to support job creation. Additionally, KABA serves as a clearing house for site selection and economic information. KABA also delivers a number of training programs designed to upgrade the skills of area workers.
Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce
The Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce is a business and community resource organization that continuously works to serve and strengthen the Kenosha Area.
